Episode 21: Managing mental health programs
Ahmad Bahrami has worked in county behavioral health systems for over twelve years and is the Division Manager of Public Behavioral Health and the Equity Services Manager for Fresno County Department of Behavioral Health. Ahmad has been involved at the state and regional level with developing programs for cultural humility and reducing disparities, student mental health, truancy prevention, and suicide prevention.
In 2019, Ahmad was selected as Steinberg Institute Champion For Mental Health for his efforts to improve accessibility for diverse groups.
Prior to his work in county behavioral health Ahmad had worked with various community-based providers in Fresno as both a direct service provider and in leadership roles. His experience outside of county behavioral health has included criminal justice settings, community public health, substance use, housing, and workforce development.
Ahmad’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Criminology, a Master’s in Business Administration, and completion of doctoral work in Organizational Development.
