Meet the Team

Priscilla Osei
Executive Producer

Priscilla Osei, also known as Pee, is a third-year doctoral student at the University of Helsinki. Originally from Ghana, Priscilla has established herself as a freelance photographer in Helsinki, Finland. Her diverse background and unique experiences have shaped her into a multifaceted professional with a keen eye for storytelling. In addition to her academic and photographic pursuits, Priscilla has discovered a profound passion for podcast production. She edits the Social Work Routes podcast and handles the technicality of our platform.

"I think podcasting is the future of public scholarship. It is a powerful platform for sharing stories worldwide. I am proud to contribute to a platform that seeks to make a meaningful impact on society."

For Priscilla, the role of a podcast producer is not just about technical editing; it's about crafting compelling narratives that resonate with listeners.

Smarika KC
Associate Producer

Smarika KC is currently finalizing my doctoral research in social work at the University of Helsinki. Her doctoral research explores inequalities in ageing from an intersectional perspective. She has extensive research experience in the fields of gender, ageing, intergenerational relations, and migration.

“I find stories to be powerful and I take inspiration from them in my scholarship. I feature stories of people who are hard to reach and attempt to open counternarratives of migrant women. I am thrilled to be a part of the Social Work Routes Podcast. For me, the team provides a space to learn and grow together. As social workers and researchers, we get to learn from every conversation on the podcast with change makers from all around the world. It also makes us think more about our impact beyond academia and the broader implications for social work practice.”
