Episode 05: Breaking barriers

 

Dr. Virginia Rondero Hernandez is a Professor Emeritus at California State University, Fresno. She was also the executive director of CalSwec at the University of California, Berkeley. Prior to coming to Fresno State, Dr. Rondero Hernandez taught at Texas State University, San Marcos, and the Worden School of Social Service at Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, Texas. She has practiced as a licensed social worker in clinics, hospitals, hospice, schools, and non-profit settings. Her research interests include substance use disorders, adult and juvenile justice, child health disparities, Latino mental health, shame resilience, and integrated health care services. She is currently working as a coach, consultant, and clinician specializing in supporting the leadership development of emerging and established leaders. She has expertise in developing strategies to enhance diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace.
