Episode 06: African American experiences in social work

Cassandra Little Ph.D. MSW

She received her Doctorate in 2003 from the University of Nevada Reno, Counseling Educational Psychology Department in Reno, Nevada. For 27 years she worked in the Child Welfare field as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Cassandra received her M.A., in Social Work from the University of Nevada Reno and her B.S. in Sociology-Criminal Justice from California Baptist College in Riverside California. She has taught college courses on the topics of Mass Incarceration; the Intersectionality of Race, Gender and Mass Incarceration, Social Work, Ethnic and Gender Issues in the Criminal Justice System, and Cultural Competency.  Her current research interests center around the intersectionality of race, gender, and mass incarceration. She is currently an Adjunct Professor at California State University Fresno in the Criminology Department and Fresno Pacific University in the Social Work Department.
